vacinations!

you know what sucks? lockjaw. this is why I got my tetnus booster today. well that and I'm going to africa this summer.

I also got the first of 3 hep a/b shots and my DPT booster. I can't remember what the DP or T stand for. 3 down, 4 more to go. polio (polio? really? is that still around?), measles mumps rubella, and yellow fever, and mengo-coccal 4, as well as another hep shot in a month.

I am a freakin pin cusion. but shots are better than diseases, is what I always say. or at least always say today. and probably yesterday too.

my left arm hurts. but not as much as lock jaw hurts.


an interesting note, since reading all of the information about said vaccinations, I am both afraid of the diseases AND afraid of the vaccinations. the diseases are scary enough, but the vaccines? one of them warns that you shouldn't get the vaccination if the last time you got it you lapsed into a coma or had severe seizures within a week of your shot. really? who actually needs that warning? I am pretty sure if I got a tetnus (I think that's the one it was) shot and went into a coma, I wouldn't get another one. I might PREFER lock jaw. one of them warned of "behavior changes", which is just vague enough to be disturbing and make me paranoid. (I wanted bread for dinner- I don't usually want bread for dinner. oh and now I am thirsty, and I'm not usually thirsty, damn you vaccination!)

but I won't have lock jaw.
